Thursday, July 13, 2017. A lovely, but hot and sunny day on the Hudson River produced this painting of the Rondout Lighthouse. My plein air group met at the Rotary Park, which is the old site of Kingston Point. A hundred years ago and more, it was the steamboat landing and amusement park that 1000s of people visited, including my grandmother, who loved to talk about it. You can walk along the trolley tracks and there are big shade trees and a few picnic tables.
